Abstract | Construction industry has substantial economic importance all over the world. It gives job opportunities to all the people irrespective of their skill. Construction industry in India gives the employment to 33 million people and stands in the second position among all the industries after agriculture. Most of the construction workers employed are various other sectors such as agriculture, handlooms etc. As the construction industry is growing in India day by day more workers migrated to get money. So, when the employers recruit these kinds of workers who do not have any knowledge and training regarding construction safety, accidents chances at site will be high. Workers were unable to predict the risks and expose to various hazards. Inspections will be carried out at site but there many drawbacks in the results due to lack of proper standardization, standard documentation, restricted access to information, repetitive data preparation and lack of safety specialists. Present study will focus on the improve the efficiency and effectiveness safety reporting in the workplace and overall site safety performance in construction site. A mobile safety inspection application software will be developed to record inspection data, so that the efficiency of acquiring site safety conditions would be increased. For developing the application semi-structure interview with safety managers will be made for summarizing the safety features and functions need to be included in the application. Interviews will be based on the safety features necessary to perform safety inspection and record incidents. Next based on the data acquired the prototype of the application will be designed and developed. Later the final design of the application will be tested through verification and validation tests and final mobile on-site safety application (MOSI) will be presented. |
