AbstractThis study is mainly focused on the development of the LOD roadmap framework for BIM-based building construction projects. These days, the LOD concept is significantly implemented in BIM development process because of their systematic approach in the BIM implementation process and their beneficial impacts on the information exchanges. However, the definition of LOD is still vague and diffused. Moreover, there are lack of consistent understanding and clear guidance in LOD adaptation in real practice although many international organizational groups developed the different LOD theoretical frameworks. Therefore, the study aims to develop a LOD roadmap framework for BIM adaption in BIM-based building construction projects. In this study, the LOD roadmap framework is developed based not only on the practice of actual contemporary phenomena from the investigated projects but also on the theoretical developments from the previous literature's findings. The qualitative approach is used by conducting the multiple case studies in large and medium-scale project located in three different countries: Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. The collected data is analyzed by using within case analysis to identify the key important LOD related activities and to investigate the step-by-step BIM LOD development process in each case. After that, the cross-case analysis is performed to compare the similar or different BIM development approaches and analyzed their negative and positive impacts of different developments between the cases.
