Abstract | Air temperature is commonly measured at standard meteorological stations with the height of approximately 1.5 meter or 2 meter above the ground, MODIS land surface temperature (LST) data was conducted in this study in order to validate accuracy between MODIS LST data and air temperature from weather station data. This research study carried out in the Eastern part of the Thailand in Ubon Ratchathani province. The results showed that accuracy level is very good when Maximum air temperature correlate with MODIS day Land Surface Temperature at both stations 30) and 50) is (r = 0.79 and 0.75, R2 = 0.62 and 0.56, RMSE = 2.5°C and 2.4 °C). The same accuracy we found between Minimum air Temperature and MODIS night Land surface temperature at both stations 301 and 50) is (r = 0.80 and 0.82, R2 = 0.63 and 0.67, RMSE = 2.5°C and 1.7 °C). Nevertheless, we found that there is a good correlation between Maximum and Minimum Air temperature and MODIS Day & Night Land surface temperature in this study. Finally, we found Night Land Surface temperature and minimum air temperature correlation r at station 501 r = 0.82 which is good positive correlation. |
