AbstractThe research was carried out for three main objectives; Assess the status of fish supply chain, identify underperforming factor affecting collaboration between fish farmers and Hotel, Restaurant and Catering sector and propose a recommendation for enhancing the collaborative supply chain to resolve the issue of food insecurity and gap within the supply chain of fish product produced and distributed within Nepal. Fish farmers assessed in this research were from districts politically recognized for intensive fish production areas. Literatures were collected defining the intensification of production has led to higher amount of waste along with improper supply management leading to issue of food insecurity. Factors affecting collaboration were considered as independent variables that affect the level of collaboration. Factors were merged using factor analysis and ran correlation and multiple regression for checking their effect. The volume of production, distribution and consumption shows the chain is more supply driven. Key Performance Indicator was also used for performance importance matrix to be built that justified underperforming factors amoung all types of actors in supply chain. The supply among all the pure independent variables types Resource sharing stood underperforming factor among Fish farmers and Hotel, Restaurant and Catering sector. Regression models showed that there is an association between most of the pure independent variables as well as principle component factors. Behavioral uncertainty, topology, legal protection/collaborative agreement and resource sharing has positive effect on level of collaboration.
