AbstractThe performance of a modified puwer tiller manufactured in Indonesia was evaluated. It consist of evaluations of the axle performance and drawbar performance in wet-land, using cage wheels. This performance was later compared with the performance of the previous model. The maximum axle powers were found to be 5.18, 4.78, and 3.11 kW at 2350, 2200, and 1650 rpm no-load engine speeds, respectively. The power transmission efficiency from engine to axle of the power tiller at 2350 rpm no-load engine speed was 78.5 % . The maximum drawbar power in wet-land were found to be 2.24, 1.91, and 1.55 kW at 2350, 2200, and 1650 rpm no· load engine speeds, respectively. The tractive efficiency and coefficient of traction at the maximum drawbar power were 51.1, 49.2, and 53.7% and 0.55, 0.52, and 0.47 at 2350, 2200, and 1650 rpm no-load engine speeds, respectively. The maximum overall power efficiency from engine power to drawbar power at 2350 rpm no-load engine speed was found to be 33. 9 % .
