AbstractManagement Skills Training is an emergent demand in the growing market economy of Vietnam. However, a useful training program should be based on the actual needs of the organizations operating in that economy. By means ofinterviews and survey questionnaires, Need Assessment was carried out in major cities in North and South Vietnam. The findings show that there exists some differences in managers' behavior on the need ofskills training, but the skills they need to improve are almost the same. There also exists a lack of entrepreneurship management skills. These needs can only be provided by at least formal middle management training. A Profile of Vietnamese Management including their characteristics, the number of potential trainees and training resources is presented to show the existing situation in the country.
