AbstractThis research aims to provide a perspective on the technical and economical applicability of Wireless Local Loop (WLL) in industrialized and developing countries. It was conducted by studying the trends and status of the telecommunications in both countries, by studying the potential markets (urban or rural area) and by considering if WLL is an economical alternative to copper loop. It was concluded that WLL can be applicable to industrialized and developing countries particularly in rural areas. It could be an economical replacement for copper loop depending on the costs of the area under consideration.
