AbstractThis research presents a performance evaluation of the QuickSig software, developed at the Helsinki University of Technology, based on a Personal Computer (PC). QuickSig is based on the latest developments in object-oriented programming, Common Lisp Object System (CLOS), on PC-machines. QuickSig has been designed to extend the Lisp language by a layer of general constructs of signal processing; abstract data structures like signals, filters and related signal processing operations. QuickSig is based on Common-Lisp, an object-oriented extension of Lisp language. A code for QuickSpan processing for spans, scale-spans and intervals is presented. A detailed list of QuickSig functions for signal definitions such as signal-objects and method-functions, is presented. Finally, an evaluation of the signal properties such as array processing, convolution, filtering, etc., was carried out.
