Abstract | This thesis is to evaluate the past trend performance in the electricity system of Thailand, from the technological, microeconomic, macroeconomic and social performance of power sector in Thailand and make major opportunities to improve performance and assess of policies to improve performance by using ratio or engineering method to measure. This thesis identities the electricity energy efficiency of the electricity system. Efficiency as an idea can idea can have either board or narrow meanings. As used in many current discussion, efficiency is often given a narrow definition, especially in relation to mainly technical objectives. But in this thesis, I will adopt the board meaning of efficiency, that is, efficiency will be evaluated in relation to a wide range of objectives, including that of generation, transmission and distribution, end use, micro economic as well as, macroeconomic, system performance and social performance. In addition, this thesis assess the operational efficiency of EGAT and defining norms for performance and recommend specific measures for improvements, including development of suitable for monitoring performance and identify areas for improvement and assess the productivity of its departments and to determine whether they are operating in the most cost-effective manner in EGAT. |
