Abstract | In this rapidly developing digital era, supply chain management has grown in importance to become a key business priority for manufacturing companies, where almost everything is connected via the internet. The purpose of this research is to delve into the impact of the digital supply chain on the quality, productivity, and cost reduction aspects of operational performance, focusing on the food and beverage industry in Indonesia. This study has also attempted to empirically test the moderator effect of lean practices on the relationship between the digital supply chain and operational performance. This research is based on quantitative methods and data collected from the food and beverage industry of Indonesia. Data from a survey comprising a total of 209 responses was selected for investigation. Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling was used to perform the analysis. The findings reveal that the digital supply chain has a significant effect on operational performance in terms of quality, productivity, and cost reduction performance. The results have also demonstrated that the moderating effect of lean practices on the relationship between digital supply and performance is stronger at the level of quality performance, but weaker at the levels of productivity and cost reduction performance. This research advances our knowledge of supply chain management by investigating the knowledge gap associated with digital supply chains. In particular, it focuses on the hitherto unresearched effect of operational performance regarding the Indonesian food and beverage industry. The theoretical and managerial implications of these findings have been discussed for the benefits of scholars and managerial decision-makers. |
