Abstract | Now-a-days technology has become an essential element for survival and to be competitive in the global market. Realizing this fact, many developing countries are trying to industrialize through 'technology-driven path.' They also recognize that the presence of proper and effective technological infrastructure is an essential condition for technology based development. However, experience has shown that in many developing countries, theoretically the infrastructure is present but it is not functioning p~operly . To eliminate the weakness of infrastructure in an effective way, the linkages between the infrastructure and the productive enterprise are to be established first. In this study, the institutes involved in the technology infrastructure of Bangladesh are listed with types of services they provide and the linkages that should exist. The important institutes of the product-process innovation chain are studied to assess their strength. Finally, a resource allocation model is proposed from the policy makers point of view as how R&D funds could be allocated for the product-process innovation infrastructure. |
