AbstractTwo solar cookers, the Double Glass AIT type and the Oven type, have been modelled theoretically for predicting their performance. Actual solar cookers of the two types were designed, fab1icated, and tested in a solar simulator. A compaiison of the theoretical and experimental results has been done on the basis of certain figures of merit. It has been found that the Double Glass AIT type cooker gives a higher first figure merit because of its higher stagnation temperature and the Oven type solaiĀ· cooker gives a higher second figure of merit because of its shorter cooking duration.
