Abstract | In this report a model is proposed to evaluate the result of R&D projects. This model regards "completion" of a project as "success", and try to measure its "degree" of success. Project's success comprises of three aspects: operational, technical, and commercial. This model divides each aspect's degree of success into five categories and uses subjective and objective criteria to determine these categories. Based on individual project's performance, entire R&D organization's performance can be evaluated also. As a case study the model is applied to the R&D projects of China Steel Corporation in Taiwan. This kind of evaluation can provide many useful information and implications. |
