AbstractExperience Curve, Product Life Cycle, and Industry Structure could be used as strategic planning tools to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage if the managers interpret them carefully and consider their long term implications. Hence, this repo1t provides a guideline to use these tools properly. The framework developed in this report helps to identify the various sources of cost reduction for learning at various stages of the product and process life cycles and how it helps to choose a manufacturing process with implications for product innovation, flexibility, market response etc. The framework also helps to identify the influences of various elements of an industrial enterprise and how they interact to shape the rules of competition at various stages of the product life cycle and how these findings can help to formulate a viable technology strategy for development.
