Abstract | This study focuses on developing a fuzzy conceptual graph inference engine both on theory and implementation. In this process, theoretic support is given by defining the data structures for fuzzy conceptual graphs, developing inference mechanism and inference control strategies. Many operations such as join of fuzzy concepts, fuzzy conceptual relations, join of fuzzy conceptual graphs, maximal join and projection are provided which form the foundation of the inference engine. The engine is implemented using Turbo C++. This study shows that fuzzy conceptual graph is a powerful scheme for knowledge representation and processing. It is a natural way to represent knowledge. Inheritance inference is easy to incorporate in it. Proving procedure is shorter on fuzzy conceptual graphs . Comparison between Prolog and fuzzy conceptual graph inference engine is given. |
