Abstract | This study proposes and develops two method1:1 for recognition of handwritten numerals. One classifies samples based on structural features extracted from their skeletons: the other makes use of their contours from features of their Left and I Right Profile. Both methods achieve high recognition rates ( more than 90%) and low error rates. To take advantage of the inherent complementarity of two methods, we investigate six different ways of combining them for sequential combination and parallel combination with no sharing rules of the two methods and finally be able to get more reliable result ( 99%) with very low error rate. |
