AbstractA study ofgroundwatermodelling has been carriedout for Mae Moh Basin Area. Available geological, hydrogeological, geophysicaldataarecollected, reviewed, processed andsynthesized to build hydrogeological models of the Mae Moh basin. The groundwater flow system in Mae Moh Basin Area is conceptualized as a leaky andfractured multiaquifer system with some typical hydrogeological characteristics of a small localized basin, namely, upward hydraulic gradients; the presence of a weathered limestone layer at the top of basement with high permeability; fractured zones associated with basement faults and along the basin margins could be significant location of groundwater flow etc. It is concluded that the numerical modelling technique as well as the quasi-3D model can be successfully applied for hydrogeological situation of Mae Moh basin. The developed program QUASI can handle various quasi-3D models with anisotropy, fault existence andirregular shape boundaries. A two-stage techniqueofanalysis has been carried out and it is recommended for groundwater flow modelling of small basins like Mae Moh basin.
