AbstractEnergy shortage has a bottleneck effect on the industry development in Zhejiang. System dynamics is used to analyze the main interactions between energy and industry productions from organization, economics, technology, and environment aspects, by which a system dynamics model was built. The results of experiment shows that the energy shortage will continue in near future. But some policies that hasten the electricity expansion are helpful to improve this situation. The effort of energy conservation will have a favor result if focusing on electricity use. The environmental impact will become a limitation of economic development. Shifting the existing energy consumption pattern to low coal dependent would slow the indust1y development. With their nonlinearities, feedback loops emphasis on the dynamic behavior and the need for policy analysis, system dynamic models can be used to describe many properties of energy systems.
