AbstractThe geological structure of Hoa Hinh and adjacent area have been studied by interpretation of remote sensing and GlS ' data. Remote sensing data including Landsat MS8, SOYUZ, aerial photos are integrated with GlS data including geo1o~ical data, geophysic data, geochemic data and data about mineral resources in order to find out the geological structure and mineralization zones. Digital image processing of Landsat M8S computer compatible tape was used to extract the best , geologically, interpretable enhanced images. The enhancement techniques are: false colour composite (FCC) image, filtering, principal component analysis, ratioing a nd FCC of ratioing images. These best enhanced images have been used for geological and geostructures analysis. '!'he tectonic fault, 1ineament feature and ring structures have been studied in detail. Five lineament/fault systems have been discovered, the geological structure , tectonic evoluti6n, geodynamics a nd relationships between geological structure and mineral resources in t h e study area are presented. The three mineralization zones and guidelines for prospecting for mineral resources are proposed The series of the maps and schemes are produced ·u sin g Geographical Information System and remote sensing techniques.
