AbstractThe nonlinear finite element analysis program for two-dimensional reinforced concrete structures subjected to in-plane loading called WCOMR is modified to be able to incorporate the case of multi-directional reinforcements. By adopting the existing constitutive models of concrete in WCOMR and extending those bi-linear models of two-way orthogonal reinforcing bars to the case of multi-directional bars, constitutive models of reinforced concrete plate elements with multi-directional reinforcements are developed and implemented into the WCOMR program. The validity of the modified WCOMR program is demonstrated through the comparisons with the past experimental results of reinforced concrete plates subjected to in-plane stresses and reinforced concrete cylinder subjected to pure torsion.
