AbstractRoller compacted concrete(RCC) provides the designer with a new possibilities for concrete dam designs. Different design sections can be used from job to job and even within any given job. The various material properties that are possible with RCC make the task of selecting the best design more complex than with conventionally placed concrete. Construction of RCC dams is still at a stage where universally accepted concepts have not yet been agreed on and they differ from country to country or even from one location to another. The study summarizes the design options available within RCC and gives guide lines to decide on a narrow range of optimum solutions, considering methods of structural analysis, mix proportioning, & seepage control.
