AbstractA tsunami model which includes the motion of landslide is proposed. Two types of landslide models; Circular-arc slip model(toe-slip model and base slip model) and Subsidence model, are applied to wave generation for the case on the significant phenomena in the southern shore of Hading Bay, Flores Island, Indonesia. One-dimensional propagation and simple topography are introduced to simplify the numerical condition because of the lack of field data. The significance of the effects of soil diffusion, bottom friction and drag are discussed. Some assumptions are made on the properties of soil due to lack of information in the field. Thus, the result of this research will only determine the most appropriate model that could best describe the significant phenomena; wave generation due to landslide, in the southern shore of Hading Bay. However, this will not render the research futile for it is possible and very valuable to discuss the results obtained in the numerical simulation with several landslide model.
