AbstractIn this study, an attempt is made to apply the System dynamics methodology to the financial and electric generation aspects of EGAT' s financial performance and policy design. A model of the financial and generation system of EGA T was built, taking into account the influence of growth of demand, capacity expansion, tariff, investment and sources of funds. A primary objective of this study is to design policy mechanisms to improve the financial performance of the utility which is strongly affected by regulator policy. Most actions which significantly improve financial performance are in the regulatory area. The model was written in the DYNAMO language and the corresponding structures were based on funds flow relationships, experiences and literature.
