AbstractA conceptual graphs based semantic model is defined. Few extensions are made to conceptual graph structures, in order to provide easy notation for fequently occuring semantic modelling concepts. The model defines the use of conceptual graph constructs for modelling purposes. An emphasis is made to capture linguistic reltionships along with the data relationships. Use of lattice structure in this respect is described in detail. Based on the given model definition, a view integration methodlogy is defined. The methodology is designed to facilitate an analyst in integrating valid views. The process of view validation is assisted through the linguistic information captured for the views. The lattice structure is used as a guide to identify possible anomalies. The integration steps are based on modified procedure of join operation for conceptual graphs. Finally a mapping is defined to convert the specifications from the defined model to optimal normal form relations of a relational schema.
