AbstractThe comparative study on land subsidence in Asian Ci ties, especially Bangkok was carried out, with the land subsidence of Nobi caseĀ· in Japan as a reference. The aim of the study was to transfer some useful information obtained in The Nobi case to those cities now suffering from the subsidence problem. (1) Need of an interdisciplinary committee to study the problem, (2) Sufficient and timely supply of surface water and (3) Accumulation of the long term observation records are recommended.
