AbstractThis study presents a method of economically designing an Irrigation canal based on local cost parameters and design factors. The method is mainly graphical, following which, canal bed width B and Flow depth D can be determined directly from the graph for different canal conditions and design factors. For this purpose, a series of graphs are drawn considering various design factors and design discharges of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 m3/sec.
