Abstract | The value of any employment condition in attracting better employees, reducing employee turnover, and improving employees morale and efficiency depends on the facilities provided by the employer other than salary. Employee Benefit Plans can improve employee’s morale and efficiency. The present study deals with the AIT Insured Savings Fund which provides various benefits to AIT employees. Past operation of the ISF has been analyzed and a model is developed to calculate the net expenses of the Fund. Insurance premium, medical expenses and administrative fee are the major expenses of the Fund. Proposals were collected for alternative medical and life insurance plans from different insurance companies. These alternative plans were analyzed by using the Interest Adjusted Cost Index method. Based on the results of the analysis, medical insurance cannot be taken out side at cheaper rates for the same benefits as compared to existing Medical Benefits Plan, but cost of life insurance can be reduced by transferring the contract to other insurer. It was found that if ISF increases the liability for Self-Insurance Plan, benefits to employees can be increased by reducing the insurance expenses. |
