AbstractThe potential of rice bran as a supplementary feed in fertilized tanks for Nile tilapia (Qreochromis niloticus) was assessed. Optimal loading levels of fertilizers (urea a nd TSP) and buffalo manure were applied to the system based on a previous stud y . among the treatments, which indicated that phytoplankton was enough for fish growth a nd that it was unnecessary to add high- energy supplementary feed in this system at the stocking density used . However, higher rice bran feeding levels led to a higher fat content in final fish carcass composition, which increased the energy source in the fish body .
