Abstract | A coherent Sequence Inversion Keying (SIK) parallel delay line correlator receiver for an optical CDMA system is studied in terms of the correlator output, the performance on the signal to interference ratio (S/I) and the bit error rate (BER) by taking into account the possibility to implement in practice. The thesis also studies the influence of incomplete coherent correlation, called partial-coherent, caused by the spectral width of the light source and also studies the influence of signal phase mismatch to the pe1formance of the correlator receiver. Finally, the research presented in this thesis compares the performance of the coherent SIK parallel delay line correlator receiver with the OOK (On-Off Keying) delay line correlator receiver. The results show that the coherent SIK parallel delay line correlator receiver is an attractive correlator receiver to be implemented in the optical CDMA system since it provides better performance and higher number of available code sequences than the other schemes. |
