AbstractThis study aims to make evidence, better understanding and analyze challenges facing waste management system in Pa Kahtawng IDP Camp in Mai Ja Yang, Kachinland. This study consists of identifying stakeholders with their power-interest, waste management situations and issues in addition to assessment the sources and pathways of municipal solid wastes and plastic wastes leakage to environment in Pa Kahtawng IDP Camp. The result shows that local government has the highest power and interest on effective plastic waste management system. Around 1200 lb/day of plastic waste generated in Pa Kahtawng IDP Camp. Lack of technical skills among personnel within local government, insufficient of containers, manpower and vehicle availability are the barrier of effective plastic waste management in Pa Kahtawng IDP Camp.
