AbstractIn the present study a useful micro-computer package has been developed which can be helpful in boiler or furnace combustion analysis and flue gas waste heat recovery in the industries. This package is divided into many subroutines which can be selected by the user. The LIBRARY system offers some data of standard fuels which are commonly used in the industries. The PROJECT system provides the user the option to create and store different audited data of boiler for further analysis. The COMBUSTION ANALYSIS system offers the mass balance and energy balance analysis and estimation of the boiler efficiency . The FLUE GAS RECOVERY system helps in designing a shell and tube heat exchanger to recover heat from the flue gas based on the variables selected by the user. The ECONOMIC ANALYSIS system offers an optimum search of heat exchanger design that corresponds to the minimum cost while taking into account the physical and technical cons tra ints of heat exchanger fabrication. This package will be useful to the industries which consume large amount of classical fossil or alternative fuels in their boilers or furnaces .
