AbstractThis research considers a single manufacturer and a single buyer supply chain problem while the manufacturer and the buyer are under the consignment policy. The manufacturer produces a single non deteriorating product and delivers products to the buyer in a constant lot size. The inventory carrying cost at the manufacturer’s warehouse is assumed to be lower than the inventory carrying cost at the buyer’s warehouse in order to encourage the manufacturer to store inventory in its warehouse. Mathematical models for both the unlimited manufacturer’s warehouse space capacity and the limited manufacturer’s warehouse space capacity were developed to minimize the total cost of the manufacturer. The developed models are also demonstrated by numerical examples. In addition, the effects of input parameters on the optimal solution are presented.
