AbstractIn industrial applications, the PID controller has used because its structure is simple and easy to implement in the system. On the other hand, this controller still has an inevitable disadvantage which is it lacks robustness. As a consequence, the robust controller designed by the H-infinity technique is applying. Conventional H-infinity is a method to create a Robust controller by computing H-infinity controller γ-iteration. The loop shifting two-Riccati formulae are solved to find the optimal γ so that the cost function satisfies under desired tolerance. This controller is a complex one due to the higher order terms that make it is difficult to implement in the real system. However, it can provide good robust performance. The PID controller with a derivative first order is used to compare performance with the proposed controller designed by the conventional H-infinity method. Furthermore, the robustness test by varying the load mass and pressure of the system.
