AbstractThe working instruments for solar radiation measurement at the Division of Energy Technology Meteorology Station on ET Building II were calibrated by a reference EPPLEY/PSP pyranometer in accordance with World Meteorological Organization (WMO) requirements. The global solar radiation measurement at two test sites on the top of ET Building I were also carried out from late of April to the end of June . Due to the different sensitivities and time response, there were differences between the ET Meteorology Station and test Site I. Statistical analysis shows that the difference was significant when the solar radiation was unsteady at each site. The north - facing wall of the ET Building I Westside front roof can reflect sunlight on the receiving surface of a pyranometer in the tilted position at test Site II. The reflectivity of the wall was 0.8. When the solar radiation and solar declination increased, the reflection increased too. The north-facing wall has little effect on a pyranometer in the horizontal position at test Site II.
