Abstract | In the existence of the bullwhip effect in the supply chain, reasonable strategies should be taken into consideration by the company to alleviate the effect of bullwhip. Bullwhip phenomenon is well-known as one of the most critical problems in the supply chain. Even it was found for the past 20 years, but the problem still exists, remains unsolved due to how the complexity of the supply chain is and needs to be addressed to leverage the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain. In this research, the focus is to develop a bullwhip measure in the case of a continuous inventory review policy for a two-stage supply chain with one supplier, who produces the product and send to a retailer, and one retailer, who is subjected to deal with stochastic demand from the customer, employs continuous review policy in the model of (Q, R) policy, and place an order to a supplier. The demand process used by the retailer is the first-order autoregressive demand process, AR(1) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) used as the forecasting method. We investigate the effects of the constant of an autoregressive model, first-order autocorrelation coefficient, variance of error, holding cost, and ordering cost on the bullwhip effect. |
