AbstractAs mass-production gives way to mass-customization, manufacturing assembly procedures have shifted from standardization processes in the past to flexible customized assembly processes. With the advancement of technology today, the relationship between manufacturers and markets, manufacturers, and even the human machine relationship within factories is closely linked. Therefore, the importance of knowledge sharing between factories has become more important than the issue of capacity. Although there were studies on workstations and material selection in the past, the only solution for analyzing and defining them in the optimization of a certain factory is to use algorithms or conduct relevant research for mass production, no scholars have further discussed the application of ontology concepts in assembly selection. This research integrates many different materials, product specifications, assembly procedures, inventory, and other concepts and data into the knowledge system framework of materials and worker assignment through ontology technology. Use this kind of knowledge framework to realize shared factory data, and use inference rules to execute various inference rules to provide the best assembly planning recommendations in response to the on-site resource availability and product specifications.
