AbstractNowadays, the rise of the sharing economy over the past few years has shifted people's mindsets and traditional business model, which has also been the subject of heated discussion in the media. Although the concept of the sharing economy may not have been pioneered from China, yet it is surely taking off in China in an incredible pace. With the booming market of sharing economy, various kinds of internet start-ups have rapidly gained both public attention and capital investment. As one of the sharing business model, bike sharing has achieved significant breakthroughs, meanwhile, it has attracted huge debate in the country. However, the concept of bikes is no longer new in China, but the businesses and operating model of bike sharing has combined big data, mobile payment, satellite navigation systems and other advanced technologies, as well as marketing strategy to make something original. The innovation has not only changed Chinese lifestyle, but also people all around the world. In order to contribute in solving the pieces of puzzle, this project is conducted in China. The aim of this project was to fmd out users' perception on sharing economy in the country by studying the typical example of bike sharing. The data was collected from the major metropolitan cities of China. In total of 187 responses were able for the analysis. The analysis is mostly done by Wenjuang Xing with the Excel 2016 as a supplementary tool. The author of this project firmly believes that, this potentially may help relevant companies to get insight on customer satisfaction, motivation, and consumer behavior that are influenced by various factors, for instance, better understanding the users of sharing economy and assisting to improve their business model to meet users/customers need. At the same time, the results and fmdings will also help explore possible solutions and recommendation towards the existing problems.
