Abstract | Structural lightweight concrete (SLWC) allows to use smaller structure member and reduces the use of materials by reducing the mass of the structure. Due to limited use of manufactured lightweight aggregate and industrial products like silica-fume, fly ash, BGFS, the development of SLWC by using only normal aggregates is needed. The important physical and mechanical properties of specimens that were casted using normal weight fine and/or coarse aggregate together with foaming agent and super plasticizer by using Design of Experiment to evaluate the possibility of SLWC by using normal aggregates were studied. According to the results, the density of both fresh and hardened states mostly relies on types of aggregate and foaming bubble produced and the strength of both 7 days and 28 days rely on cement and aggregate content. This study proved that SLWC can be successfully produced by using normal aggregates together with super plasticizer and foaming agent. |
