AbstractThe Computer-Aided System for irrigation Scheduling (CASIS) is an auxiliary tool. Its main objective is to assist the irrigators in their decisions in irrigation scheduling, by utilizing the micro-computer technology. The CASIS is expected to better irrigation scheduling decisions, because the major part of decisions and calculations have been assigned to and handled by the computer. Some CASIS-like program packages were available such as CROPWAT (CROP Water requirement calculation) developed by The Land and Water Development Division, FAO, Rome and IRSIS (Irrigation Scheduling Information System) developed by Katholieke Leuven Universities it Belgium. And some CASIS outputs have been compared to and verified by those program packages. Also the CASIS computer model was used to compute water distribution in practical irrigation scheduling activities in the RENTANG irrigation project, Indonesia. The CASIS computer model was designed as a user-friendly interactive program. The user consequently, must follow the computer's rule by inputting the data needed by the program for interaction and communication.
