Abstract | The advance in micro-computer technology has made expert systems receive
much attention in research, professiona l wo rk and many fi elds of technology. In
this study, an expert syst em "TUNNEL" has been developed for the construc tion
planning of conventional tunnelling method.
A general strategy for developments a nd application of expert systems has
been proposed. Since an expert system shell "EXSYS" has been used as a
development tool, our effort has concentrated on knowledge engineering which
mainly includes knowledge acquisition, system design, implementation and
evaluation.
The expert system "TUNNEL" has been evaluated using the data extracted
from the project report of Nathpa-Jhal |
