Abstract | An experime ntal program i s carried out to investigate the shear resisting mechanism of the sandwichcomposi te member with web reinforcements under concentrated load. Tests were carried out on 5 simply supported beams. Al l beam were same rectangular cross section. The parameters which were investigated in this report is the type of web reinforcement, width of tied plate, location of web reinforcement, spacing of web reinforcement and continuity of stee l web. The proposed model of shear resisting mechanism was found a nd used to explain the tested resu lts. And it can be applied to t h e s h ear resisting mechanism of conventional reinforced concrete with single or doubl e web reinforcement. This paper also proposed t he method to predict the ultimate s h ear strength of t h e sandwi c h-composite member. The comparison between the calculated shear strength and the observed one is in good agreement. |
