AbstractEntrepreneurial intention performs a vital part in entrepreneurship learning and practice. The paper aims to investigate how the human capital, social capital and university environment directly affect social entrepreneurial intent. A 46-item questionnaire was developed entirely based on the literature review. Data were originated basically from a sample of 426 undergraduate and postgraduate university students from public and private universities of Chattogram, the commercial capital of Bangladesh. The analysis was carried out using the hierarchical regression analysis. The results revealed that informal education, group of networks and university environment positively and significantly affect social entrepreneurial intent. On the other hand, formal education and work experience are found insignificant. The research study contributes to the understanding of the factors that affect social entrepreneurial intention in Bangladesh. The results of these studies may help other developing countries in understanding social entrepreneurial intention.
