| Abstract | In the global era of modernization and increasing competition, it is crucial to understand the need of employees. The number of banks are increasing in Nepal and there is a cut throat competition between them. To retain the employees and bring out the optimum performance from the employees has become vital for the survival and the growth of the organization. This research sheds light on how intrinsic reward, extrinsic reward and motivation impact the performance of the employees in the banking industry of Nepal. With the sample size of 255 respondents, a quantitative research was conducted. Statistical tools like Pearson’s correlation and Hierarchical multiple regression was carried out to analyze and understand the relation between the variables and assess the hypothesis of the study. The results of the analysis concluded that intrinsic reward and motivation has a positive impact on the performance of the employees however extrinsic reward has no significant relation with the performance. Therefore, the results of this study could be utilized my banks in Nepal to frame the incentive policies and strategies to obtain optimum performance of the employees in order to achieve the organizational goal and success. |
