Abstract | The purpose of this research study was to design and implement a Graphic Interface for Bus Scheduling. The objective of the interface is to transform the output, of a stochastic simulation of bus travel; into a set of moving bus_images. Th e interface is being designed and implemented, to be ultimately used as a visual aid in bus_scheduling. In order to realize the latter objective it is deemed that the interface should run in accelerated real_time a nd that there should be possibilities of representing particular scenarios. The representation of bus mot ion in specific directions and at specific velocities has been done by solving t he problem of animation of composite objects. Furthermore, representation of multiple bus motion requires that the composite objects appear to move together in space and time. In achieving the latter objective one has to either solve or compensate for the problems caused by non instantaneous program execution. The quest for solution of the latter problem leads one to speculate on a variety of hardware and software environments. |
