Local level planning information at the lowest possible level for effective planning. data are requires This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of setting up a database management system for provincial development planning in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. The database covered the different sectors of the economy - agriculture, industry, infrastructure, and services. The barangay database for provincial planning is feasible provided that the data gathered/ collected are of high quality. However, careful planning is needed to ensure that no irrelevant information is included in the database. The feasibility of implementing a distributed database management system which would conform to the government ' s decentralization thrust should be further looked into. |
