Abstract | This thesis conduct to evaluate the effects of tunnel advancing in an urban area that correlates to MRT Blue Line Extension Contrat 2 by using PLAXIS3D as finite element method with essential hardening soil parameters. The author describes the geotechnical and construction aspects of the twin tunnel 1.9 km in length beneath Chao Phraya River. Subjects covered include engineering geology of the tunnel in soft soil condition, tunneling condition and lining construction sequence. The results from the finite element method are verified by measuring instruments. The research focuses on all structures affect by tunnelings such as piles and buildings. The analyzed results show that ground movement and pile effects often outperforms in terms of movements using the hardening soil model. |
