Abstract | Rural primary health care projects have been implemented for the development of Thailand since 1981. Non-governmental organizations have played an important role in deve loping the primary health care system of the country. This study identifies the implementation problems in rural primary health care projects from the opinions of fieldworkers of non-governmental organi zations. Inadequate experiences of non-governmental organizations personnel with primary health care, ineffective project planning and preparation, vague target groups and the lack of funds are common problems. The study also discusses the limited effectiveness of coordination in the rural primary health care projects between non-governmental organizations and governmental organizations . Suggestions to solve these problems are made. |
