AbstractThe landslide or debris flow event in Thailand can lead to high impacts to people life and economic problems. Most landslide and debris flow have occurred in rainy season and storm period, which starts from middle May – October. In the past four years ago, the landslide occurred at Ban Huai Khap and the results led to 8 people die. Hence, the residence would like to migrate to Ban Na Lum due to concerns in landslide occurred again. However, Ban Na Lum is in the fault zone and active fault located nearby, and nobody has done any research about slope stability and debris flow potential due to change in climate. Here we show the method to analyze slope stability by using TRIGRS program and predict the debris flow potential due to the climate change in the future by using the DEBRIS-2D program. We found that increase in 10% of rainfall amount and use in sensitivity tests of main soil parameters, which includes low cohesion, low friction angle and high hydraulic conductivity, the slope behind the village will be instability. Furthermore, the results of the sensitivity tests show that the fastest arriving time for the debris flow to reach the edge of the village is less than 1 sec, and the affected area is almost the area of phase 1 of the village of the scenario of the more conservative values of soil parameters and rainfall amount. The thesis anticipates that people at Ban Na Lum will understand the impact of debris flow and can use my results to protect their life when occurring the climate change in the future.
