Abstract | With the increasing need to address climate change, the petroleum refining industry has been under pressure to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This project aims to develop a net zero pathway and identify suitable CCUS technologies for Bangchak Refinery in Thailand. Methodology primarily consisted of a comprehensive literature review and analysis of existing net zero roadmaps and CCUS technologies to assess their suitability for the refinery. Results underscore the challenges and opportunities associated with transitioning Bangchak refinery towards net zero emissions. The research identifies promising CCUS technologies that could be applied in the context of the refinery, taking into account technical and economic factors. The proposed net zero roadmap and CCUS technologies provide a foundation for future research in carbon utilization, cost-benefit analysis of decarbonization, and market assessment of captured carbon. |
