| Abstract | The purpose of this thesis is to study the optimization problems for water distribution networks The mathematical models for the optimal design and optimal expansion problems are developed. A new method called Nonlinear Prograrrrning Gradient (NLPG) i s proposed to solve both the problems. The method is computationally implemented and applied to concrete examples. |
